Pipp compared with HappyFox
A HappyFox alternative for founders who answer support email
Queues, priorities, and service levels help when support has become a formal operation. A small team answering its own customer email may need a lighter place to start. We’re building Pipp for that work: a shared email inbox with AI assistance and a non-AI core that’s free forever. AI is free during beta and paid afterward.
HappyFox Help Desk provides those ticket workflows, a knowledge base, and reporting. Pipp starts with a smaller daily job: decide who replies, then write a good answer. Reserve your spot on the waitlist for our email-first beta if that is the support workspace your team needs.
The short answer
Consider Pipp if email is your main support channel and a focused shared inbox suits your small team. We want the everyday reply to be easy to find, discuss, and send together.
Choose HappyFox when support needs defined ticket states, queues, service levels, knowledge content, and reporting. Its Basic Help Desk plan already includes omnichannel ticket creation, SLA management, and a knowledge base. The Team and Pro tiers add more administration. If you have several people routing requests across departments, those controls earn their space.
Pipp and HappyFox at a glance
| Question | Pipp | HappyFox Help Desk |
|---|---|---|
| What is the main job? | Shared customer email for founders and small teams, with AI assistance in our product direction. | Structured ticketing for customer or internal support, with queues, service levels, knowledge, and reporting. |
| Can we use it today? | No. We’re at the waitlist stage before internal testing and invited beta. | Yes. HappyFox offers paid Help Desk plans and a 14-day trial, not a permanent free Help Desk plan. |
| Which channels are covered? | Email only in v1. Chat is planned after launch. | Omnichannel ticket creation is listed on Basic; HappyFox sells web messaging separately. Check the channel setup your team needs. |
| How much administration is there? | Our planned v1 has shared inboxes, assignment, internal notes, and team roles. This is scope, not a claim of public availability. | Basic has ticket categories, statuses, priorities, SLAs, a knowledge base, and reporting. Team and Pro add deeper roles, queues, multibrand, tasks, and assignment controls. |
| What does the core cost? | Our non-AI core is free forever. AI is free during beta and paid afterward; we haven’t set our post-beta AI price yet. | Basic starts at $24 per agent per month, billed annually, or $29 monthly. HappyFox also offers flat-price unlimited-agent plans with annual ticket allowances. |
| Is AI included? | AI assistance is part of our direction, though it may not be enabled in the first beta. | HappyFox AI is a separate paid product; Standard starts at $14 per agent per month. |

When a smaller inbox is enough
We’re building for the founder who still reads the support mailbox, and for small teams that answer together. If your daily job is deciding who replies, keeping the thread in view, and writing a useful answer, a focused email product may be enough. We would rather make that work clear than put an empty control panel between you and the next customer email.
Join the waitlist if that lighter approach fits your team. Reporting and a verified HappyFox migration are outside our v1 scope.
When HappyFox earns its structure
Keep or choose HappyFox if you need a working help desk with service-level rules, a knowledge base, ticket reports, or several intake channels. HappyFox lists those capabilities on Basic, while Team adds custom roles and ticket queues and Pro adds task management and load-balanced assignment.
HappyFox also has a different answer to headcount. A Team or Pro agent-based plan has no agent cap, but you still pay for each agent. Its unlimited-agent plans instead use a flat annual commitment and a yearly ticket allowance. That’s useful to compare if you expect many agents. For a two-person mailbox, it’s likely more structure and a much larger commitment than you need, so start with the workflows your team actually needs.
What HappyFox costs
HappyFox publishes these US-dollar Help Desk prices. Agent-based plans have monthly or annual billing. The unlimited-agent figures are monthly equivalents billed annually, with a yearly ticket allowance. Going above the yearly ticket allowance may add overage charges. Confirm the exact overage terms before choosing a plan. A monthly-billed unlimited-agent rate was not verified.
| Help Desk plan | Monthly equivalent on annual billing | Month-to-month rate | Important limit or unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic, agent-based | $24 per agent | $29 per agent | Up to five agents; unlimited tickets |
| Team, agent-based | $49 per agent | $69 per agent | No agent cap, but each agent is billed |
| Pro, agent-based | $99 per agent | $119 per agent | No agent cap, but each agent is billed |
| Growth, unlimited agents | $1,999 flat | Not verified | 20,000 tickets per year |
Scale and Scale Plus are listed at $3,999 and $5,999 per month on annual billing, with 150,000 and 300,000 tickets a year respectively. Ultimate has a custom price and a listed one-million-ticket annual allowance. Enterprise Pro in the agent-based model is also custom-priced. An unlimited agent plan is not an unlimited ticket plan; the adjective moves, the allowance stays.
For a small-team example, two Basic agents cost $48 per month at the annually billed rate, or $58 month to month. That is before separate products. HappyFox says web messaging, AI, Workflows, and BI have their own prices. HappyFox AI Standard starts at $14 per agent per month and includes 500 Agent Copilot interactions per agent per month; the AI page does not state the billing commitment for that listed rate. Confirm your exact plan and add-ons with HappyFox.
Our non-AI core is free forever. AI is free during beta and paid afterward. We haven’t set our post-beta AI price or billing terms yet, so we can’t give a like-for-like total. Free core does not promise unlimited seats, messages, or AI use.
What we plan after email
Email is our v1 channel. Chat is one of the first features we plan to add after launch, alongside broader AI assistance. We haven’t set dates for those additions. If you need chat or a knowledge base now, HappyFox already has working options to evaluate.
Can you move from HappyFox to Pipp?
We don’t have a verified HappyFox importer, migration service, field mapping, or cutover process. Keep HappyFox running while you evaluate our beta.
HappyFox documents CSV and XLSX ticket report exports on all plans, provided your role has the export permission. You can choose dates, categories, and fields. A separate HappyFox support article says tabular reports omit later staff and customer replies and private notes; its ticket API may be needed for fuller history. We haven’t verified a complete export for any particular account, or what Pipp could import from one. Check open tickets, attachments, notes, contacts, and non-email channels before planning any move.
Questions about Pipp as a HappyFox alternative
Is Pipp a complete HappyFox replacement?
No. We’re building a focused shared email inbox for small teams. HappyFox already offers live ticketing, service levels, knowledge, reporting, and broader administration. Keep it if those are part of how you serve customers now.
Is HappyFox Help Desk free?
Its Help Desk pricing page lists a 14-day trial, not a permanent free Help Desk plan. HappyFox also advertises a separate free-for-one-year CRM startup offer; that is a different product, not free Help Desk access.
Does unlimited agents mean unlimited tickets?
No. HappyFox’s unlimited-agent plans have yearly ticket allowances. Growth starts at $1,999 per month on annual billing with 20,000 tickets a year. Agent-based Basic, Team, and Pro list unlimited tickets but charge per agent.
Is Pipp free forever, including AI?
Our non-AI core is free forever. AI is free during beta and paid afterward. We haven’t set our post-beta AI price yet. The first beta may open before AI is enabled.
When can I try Pipp, and will it have chat?
We’re at the waitlist stage, followed by internal testing and invited beta. There is no fixed invitation date. V1 is email-only; chat is planned after launch with no promised date.
Should I cancel HappyFox before trying Pipp?
No. We have no verified path for HappyFox ticket history and can’t promise an invitation date. Join the waitlist if Pipp’s simpler email workflow fits, then assess migration when we can document it.
A home for the support email you write yourself
A good answer should be the focus of your support day. We’re building Pipp for teams that want to keep it that way. Reserve your spot for a simpler shared email inbox.
Core inbox: free forever. AI: free during beta, paid afterward.
