Pipp compared with LiveAgent

A LiveAgent alternative for founder-led email support

If customer support includes phone calls, a chat window, and social messages, LiveAgent has a place for those channels. If the queue is still mostly email, we want Pipp to give your small team one clear place to work through it together. We’re building that shared inbox with AI assistance. The non-AI core is free forever; AI is free during beta and paid afterward.

LiveAgent’s Small business plan includes email ticketing, live chat, a portal, and automation; Medium adds call center and IVR. Those channels earn their place when customers use them. For a team centered on email, we’re building Pipp around that conversation. Reserve your spot on the waitlist for the invited beta.

The short answer

Consider us if your team mainly answers customer email and wants a focused shared inbox. We’re starting with email only. Chat is planned after launch, with no release date set.

Choose LiveAgent if you need live chat, phone, a knowledge base, or several messaging channels alongside email. Its plans change what you can connect, so check the tier before counting a channel as included.

Pipp and LiveAgent at a glance

Pipp and LiveAgent at a glance
Question Pipp LiveAgent
Can we use it today? We’re at the waitlist stage, before internal testing and invited beta. Yes. LiveAgent offers a 30-day trial of its paid plans.
Which channels? Email only in v1. Chat is planned after launch. Small includes email ticketing and live chat. Medium adds call center and IVR. Large includes listed social and messaging channels.
What about team workflow? Our planned v1 scope includes shared inboxes, assignment, notes, and team roles. Public availability is still ahead. Ticketing, automation, customer portal, and knowledge base start on Small. Higher tiers add SLA and reporting tools.
What about AI? AI assistance is part of our direction. The first beta may open before AI is enabled. LiveAgent lists AI features. FlowHunt-powered functions need a separate subscription; its AI-agent guide also describes free tool-call credits.
What does it cost? Non-AI core free forever. AI free during beta and paid afterward; we haven’t set our post-beta AI price yet. Annual paid tiers start at $15 per agent per month. Monthly billing starts at $19. A separate limited free account is described, too.

When our narrower inbox fits

We’re building for founders, developers, and small support teams whose customer conversations mostly arrive by email. If the person answering those messages is also shipping the product, fewer places to check can be a real benefit. Sometimes the support department is one browser tab and one person who also fixes the bug.

Our ambition is a clear, considered place to work through email together, with AI assistance. The v1 scope includes assignment, internal notes, and team roles. Join the waitlist if that direction fits; we want to welcome teams whose support is still centered on email.

When LiveAgent earns its wider remit

LiveAgent belongs on your shortlist if you need chat and email together. Its Small plan includes email ticketing, live chat, a knowledge base, customer portal, and automation rules. That can serve a small team that answers email and website chat in the same shift.

Medium adds call center, IVR, SLAs, reports, and proactive chat invitations. Large adds listed social and messaging channels to the plan; selected channels cost extra on Small and Medium. If customers already call you, or if your team depends on those channels and routing rules, our email-only v1 is too narrow.

The same applies to existing history, integrations, and established processes. We haven’t verified a way to move them into Pipp. There is no prize for switching a working support queue before you have a tested path.

What LiveAgent costs for two agents

LiveAgent displays dollar-denominated per-agent rates for annual and monthly billing. Its invoicing guide says EU invoices can be converted to euros at the exchange rate on the billing day. Annual rates are billed yearly. Small business is $15 per agent per month annually or $19 monthly; Medium is $29 or $35; Large is $49 or $59; Enterprise is $69 or $85.

LiveAgent pricing and plans
LiveAgent plan Annual rate per agent/month Two agents, monthly equivalent on annual billing Two agents, billed monthly
Small business $15 $30 $38
Medium business $29 $58 $70
Large business $49 $98 $118
Enterprise $69 $138 $170

These are base seat calculations, before tax, add-ons, AI usage, or negotiated terms. The annual column is a monthly equivalent, not a month-to-month payment. Two Small seats are $360 for a year at the displayed annual rate; two Medium seats are $696.

The plan differences matter as much as the seat rate. Small allows three incoming and three outgoing email accounts and two chat buttons; Medium allows ten of each email account and five chat buttons, and adds the call center. LiveAgent lists Facebook, X, Viber, and WhatsApp at $39 per month each on Small and Medium. Instagram requires Facebook and lists $39 plus $19 per month. Those listed channels appear in Large and Enterprise. Check your actual channels before multiplying a seat price.

LiveAgent offers a 30-day trial without a credit card. Its separate free-product page describes a limited free account with seven days of ticket history, limited integrations, no social accounts, and missing features. The main pricing grid foregrounds paid plans and the trial, and we haven’t verified the current free-account signup flow or every free limit. Treat the free account, trial, and paid subscription as different offers.

Our non-AI core is free forever. AI is free during beta and paid afterward. We haven’t set our post-beta AI price yet, so we can’t quote a paid-AI total or claim a like-for-like saving against LiveAgent’s broader plans.

How AI fits into the bill

LiveAgent’s FlowHunt AI pricing guide calls for a separate active FlowHunt subscription and credit-based usage. Its AI-agent support guide separately says each account gets 300,000 free tool-call credits. These are different credit descriptions in LiveAgent’s own documentation. Feature eligibility and provider costs vary, so a base seat quote alone is not an AI usage quote. We haven’t verified a representative AI bill for your workload.

We’re building Pipp with AI assistance. The first beta may open before AI is enabled. Any AI offered in beta is free; it becomes paid afterward, while the non-AI core remains free forever. We haven’t set that post-beta AI price or billing unit yet.

What we plan next

Email is our v1 channel. Chat is one of the first features we plan to add after launch, along with broader AI assistance. We haven’t set dates or detailed chat functions. If chat or phone is part of this week’s support coverage, LiveAgent already has a plan for it.

Can you move from LiveAgent to Pipp?

We don’t have a verified LiveAgent importer, migration service, field mapping, or cutover process. Keep LiveAgent running while you evaluate Pipp’s beta.

LiveAgent documents CSV exports in parts of its agent panel, ticket exports through API v3, and a database dump on request for paying customers leaving the service. Its API export example notes a 10,000-record retrieval ceiling for a filter and recommends narrower filters. We haven’t verified what Pipp could import from any of these paths. Ticket messages, attachments, contacts, notes, and open work need separate checks. Chat, calls, social history, and knowledge-base content have no stated destination in our email-only v1.

Questions about Pipp as a LiveAgent alternative

Is Pipp a complete LiveAgent replacement?

No. We’re building focused email support for small teams and are still prelaunch. LiveAgent already has ticketing and live chat on Small, call center and IVR from Medium, and broader channel options on higher plans.

Does LiveAgent have a free plan or only a trial?

LiveAgent advertises a 30-day trial on its main pricing page and describes a separate limited free account elsewhere. The free page says ticket history is limited to seven days. We haven’t verified the current free signup flow, so check its terms for your account before treating it as a permanent working setup.

Does LiveAgent Small include phone support?

Small includes live chat and email ticketing; the call center and IVR start on Medium. Live chat and phone are different channels, despite how often they share a support-team calendar.

Is Pipp free forever, including AI?

Our non-AI core is free forever. AI is free during beta and paid afterward. We haven’t set our post-beta AI price yet. Free does not promise unlimited usage.

When can I use Pipp, and will it have chat?

We’re at the waitlist stage. We’ll test internally before inviting beta users, with no fixed invitation date. V1 is email only. Chat is planned after launch; the first beta may open before AI is enabled.

Should I cancel LiveAgent before trying Pipp?

No. We haven’t verified a LiveAgent-to-Pipp migration path, and phone or chat history has no destination in our email-only v1. Join the waitlist if the narrower email workflow fits.
